As the Commons Service Associate, your upbeat attitude will ensure our members are working in a clean, welcoming, always connected space. This position is responsible to oversee facilities & building management and assist with technology troubleshooting to ensure member satisfaction.

Position Goals & Objectives

  • Assure positive Member experience

  • Deliver exceptional building level cleaning services & technical support

  • Identify and set priorities through clear communication with the Executive Director and Program Manager

  • Work with the team to identify opportunities to enhance Member experience

  • Act as eyes and ears in absence of Executive Director and Program Manager

Duties & Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Assist members to connect to technology, help with printer, connectivity and firewall issues

  • Troubleshoot broadband issues with our provider – Open Cape

  • Assist members with teleconference - audio & video set

  • Clean and maintain restrooms (including the restock of: toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap)

  • Clean and organize refrigerator, empty dishwasher

  • Clean and reset conference rooms tables and chairs (including the restock of: dry erase markers, white board erasers, water pitchers, glasses, prepare tables, reset chairs, empty trash, prepare white boards)

  • Clean and maintain conference rooms, artist studios, co-work area

  • Clean carpets/floors, dust and vacuum

  • Wash coffee pot and restock coffee and tea

  • Prepare spaces for the hosting of events (setup and break down)

  • Maintain building entrances and sidewalks (shovel snow/ice when needed)

  • Prepare and maintain printing stations

  • Attend service related emergencies

  • On-call for building staff during work hours

  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks and/or use of supplies

  • Other duties as assigned

Events

  • Attend pre event meetings

  • Set up pre event

  • Break down post event

  • Post-event analysis

Digital

  • Conduct daily building walkthroughs for quality control assessment

Periodic Work

  • Dusting of high spots, light fixtures, design fixtures, ductwork, HVAC dampers, furniture vacuuming, sanitation and stain removal

  • Change out of light bulbs, patch and touch up paint exhibition hallway

Skills

  • Courteous and professional able to troubleshoot and teach members how to leverage technology, including connecting to broadband, how to set and use projector, microphone, and visual set up in meeting rooms, etc.

  • Proven Team Player ability to work with a team and achieve daily and monthly goals

  • Self-starter able to identify work that needs to be done and does it without required instruction

  • Detail oriented pays attention to details regarding processes and extra attention to special requests

  • Desire to learn and seek new challenges

  • High School Diploma or equivalent job experience

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
