My work delves into the intricate tapestry of human connection, focusing on the complex dynamics of sexual and gender relationships. Drawing inspiration from the old masters, I employ classical techniques to create a dialogue between the past and the present, merging traditional artistry with contemporary themes. In my figurative works, I strive to capture the essence of human emotions and interactions. The delicate interplay of light and shadow, the meticulous attention to detail, and the use of rich, vibrant colors are all hallmarks of my technique, reminiscent of the works of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. These elements not only pay homage to the masters who came before me but also serve as a foundation for exploring modern narratives. Alison Blake is originally from San Francisco, but has lived in Boston & New York. She has a BFA in Illustration from California College of Art and an MFA in Design from School of Visual Arts. She currently lives in Provincetown, where she is inspired by the challenged traditional norms and perceptions and an environment offering a nuanced portrayal of the fluidity and diversity of all aspects of identity.

A photographer most of my life, I have been color-grading and printing my own work seriously for 10 years. I started painting my spirit birds when I first came to the Cape in 2017, and then took an oil painting class by Sky Power in 2022 and try to paint or draw every day. I have also taken a woodblock printing class Vicki Tomayko and a feminist collage workshop by Megan Hinton. I have had photography shows at SohoPhoto gallery in NYC, and been in various group shows at PAAM. I have sold my work from the Artist Cottages at Orleans Market Square, for the last 7 years.

Brad Mitchell is an Outer Cape artist who, like many, came to the Outer Cape for a respite from city life and never left. He uprooted a longtime existence in Washington, DC for the Outer Cape sky—its sunrises, sunsets; skies of blue, orange, purple, pink; noonday sun, billowy clouds, dense fog, rain, rainbows, and deep, expansive black skies with infinite stars and breathtaking nightly moon variations. Brad’s work is an attempt to interpret the energy, love, magic, and completeness that envelopes him with each passing day living on the Outer Cape.

This exhibition will be called “Life in Technicolor.” It will be a series of pieces ranging from 30x40 to 5x7, lining one side of the Commons hallway (number of pieces tbd based on what looks best). The pieces will be what I call “saturated, technicolor skyscapes,” where the focal point of each piece will be some variation of a vibrant, bright, dynamic, saturated Outer Cape sky. The pieces will be acrylic on canvas and created primarily using palette knives. Examples of pieces I have created to date are on my Instagram page. (Thanks for your consideration :-).

Originally from Greenwich Village, NYC-I grew up around a vibrant diverse community where my mother owned a vintage clothing store for 40 years. Being in that environment, influenced my aesthetic. I make images often nostalgic, brightly colored, using vintage fabric and juvenile in style. I am very interested in how things look from being decayed, aged and worn.

I taught art in kindergarten for 16 years and the looseness, naivety and freedom of the children's art made a big impression on my style of work.

Throughout my childhood I spent a lot of time sewing alongside my mother and her seamstresses that were continuously making clothes from recycled vintage and antique clothing. This has stayed with me through my art and now my “Bathing Beauties” on vintage linen.

I work in a variety of mediums: printmaking, sculpture, painting, sewing and drawing. I am constantly making images.

Live part time in Town and participated in a show this past June showing my watercolor mandalas.

I was a professional dancer from age 17 till I retired at 40. I then earned my masters degree at The Boston Conservatory and began teaching at Brookline High School. There I created an arts program for students with social emotional difficulties and began creating the ideas that have become the work I sell at craft festivals and online at Arieldesigns.us.

I would like to show my boxes this time at the gallery. I create boxes from old found boxes and use old National Geogtaphic Magazines to create the designs.

Daniel Berman, a 1990-born artist, made the transition from NYC to LA two years ago to elevate his creative pursuits. While his primary focus lies in contemporary abstract expressionism, his artistic journey is constantly influenced by evolving interests and life experiences. A self-taught artist, Daniel employs mixed media to craft pieces that are vibrant, dynamic, and whimsical. Daniel's art is a reflection of his innermost emotions and experiences and a celebration of his life's intensity, vibrancy and spontaneity. The motifs of power, boldness, color, chaos, exuberance and love that thread through Daniel's pieces create a dynamic and engaging body of work. Daniel's intention to challenge viewers to see the world from a more abstract perspective and evoke happy feelings of excitement and wonder.

I would be doing an exhibition of small to large scale pieces (15-25 pieces?) that would embody the essence of cape cod and Provincetown specifically. I utilize mixed media to create very vibrant energetic works and I am eager to have a real showcase in the town where my painting journey started in 2017

I was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I am an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. I learned white-line woodblock printing from Kathryn Lee Smith (no relation). She learned the technique from her grandmother Ferol Sibley Warthen. Blanche Lazzell taught Warthen. I also studied with Lisa Houck at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I spend summers in Provincetown. My work has been shown in open and juried exhibitions at PAAM and at The Provincetown Commons. I completed the Teaching Artist Development Program at PAAM in 2022. I teach workshops in the Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Museum School. One of my prints was selected by the jury for the 50th annual Trail of Tears Art Show held in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 2020. My first one-man show was in April 2023 at the Provincetown Commons. I am an exhibiting member of the Wellesley society of Artists. Three of my prints were included in the 3rd Annual Art Wellesley Exhibit in April 2024.

I spend summers in Provincetown. In addition to my summer workshops I have started teaching sporadic workshops at PAAM during the winter months (including this past February 2024).

I paint because I am compelled to. I have a primitive compulsion to create paintings. My paintings are influenced by my walks that I take every day on the Cape. They represent internal as well as external landscapes that exist within and around us all. These paintings are not a horizon line but rather a section of a circle. Like life, they are infinite. I reduced the shapes down to fields of color. I use a push/pull method of design as a means of expression. I also created a series of acrylic paintings. For these, I let the paintings take me where they wanted to go.

My spouse and I are part of the outer Cape women's artists gatherings that frequently occur at the Commons Gallery. I live here at this point having spent many, many years enjoying the outer Cape episodically year round since the 80s.

I have had a love of photography ever since I asked for my first camera for my7th Birthday and received a Polaroid instamatic - the kind where the black and white image produced itself over a 3-minute period outside the body of the camera. That was a hard camera to learn the tricks of the trade, but it was clearly easier to use than my father's Rolleiflex - a camera which I wish I had today. Alas, photography has come a long way since then and my love for it has only grown. I now use a variety of cameras, apps and techniques, including iphonography and pinhole approaches. The trajectory of my work emphasizes abstract and alternative imagery - a shift away from traditional photography that captures a crisp and sharp representative image. What I like most about this is that it engages the imagination of the viewer and invites the alchemy that takes place between the viewer's experience and the artist's capture and this exchange - perhaps more artistic and collaborative, becomes something more than simply the message or the feeling that the photographer wishes to express and expands into the evocative experience between the photographer and their audience.

Alternative photography - I can exhibit between 20 to 30 images

Elizabeth Gabriel Brooke, innkeeper and photographer, is well-known in Provincetown and respected everywhere on the Cape, not just for her stunning wildlife and nature photography in the local area, but also for her selfless commitments to animal welfare and environmental preservation. Elizabeth Brooke has always pursued photography - first as an avocation and later, a professional. Her life as a photographer has taken her on a voyage carrying her along what is here, right now, in the moment. When she looks through the lens, her mind attunes to the edges, capturing the raw quality and feeling of the moment. When she unites with something beyond the camera, she doesn't think “change my f-stop, move right, left, up, down”, she senses what is right, what just is: creative intuition. Her goal has always been to produce images to be shared.

Environmental Advocacy I will inhale smoke and exhale butterflies This quote, gleaned from a dream, encapsulates my need to take man’s pollution of this world and transform it into something of nature. As an interdisciplinary artist, I explore the possibility of a material’s ability to transform. My focus is on fiber and mixed media constructions and installations that convey environmental activism, while incorporating material based sub-text. My materials include commercially fished line, ghost gear, recycled and antique textiles as well as found objects, which come together to create a universe only slightly different from our own. The resulting effect is a cocktail of science, culture, nature, myth, history, and ritual, inhabiting the space of its viewers with intrigue while inspiring thoughtful dialogue of how material can be both physical as well as an abstract concept. The beauty inherent in nature is brought to life to craft a portrait of meaning and movement, while building chapters on evolution and ecology. An installation approach I frequently employ is the natural history museum style of diorama.

Gary J Cosenza is an artist who grew up near Buffalo, New York. He fell in love with Provincetown several years ago and is now fortunate enough to reside there. Gary has always been drawn to the natural beauty, the amazing light and deep blue sky that Provincetown provides. Many of his paintings contain a pathway or streetscape found in Provincetown. Gary hopes his paintings will help people remember a special place in Provincetown and they will wonder what can be found along the street or pathway as they travel into the painting.

I have been coming to Ptown since the 80's and was lucky enough to to be able to purchase a condo here in 2017. My husband and I spend at least six months continuously in Ptown each year along with short visits during the off season.

My work is painting on the spot, means "Plein Air" and drawing, also in front of the subject. For this xhibition I would like to show in the hallway on one side draeings and on the other side paintings. The drawings are all made in Provincetown. I call it my "Provincetown Drawing Diary". Nearly every day I`m out in town doing drawings. On the other hand I`ve done paintings from one spot at different times. Right now I made 8 paintings from Angel Foods to Land`s End in small scaled studies. Another project is from Race Point at different times painting the ocean and the sky.

My inspiration is shapes, colors, textures, and patterns found in nature. I combine and intertwine disparate objects and parts into designs from rusted and repurposed metal, driftwood, fiber, fabric, handmade paper and discarded materials. I see my work as a playground of visual surprises-sometimes joyful and sometimes mournful. Most of my process happens organically. I have a BA in Applied Arts with an emphasis on weaving from Iowa State University. I’m an active member of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum and a founding member of the Provincetown Artisan Co-operative. I am on your mailing list

My primary residence is Philadelphia, PA, but we spend most of the summer in Provincetown.

João Magalhães was born and raised in Southern Brazil, where he started studying art, art history, and music at the State Conservatory of Art and Music in his hometown of Pouso Alegre. Subsequently, he graduated from the Law School of the Southern State of Minas Gerais. In 2003, João obtained a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Central Oklahoma. Moving to Pennsylvania in 2004, he slowly went back to his long dormant passion, oil painting. Even though João was introduced to oil painting in his teenage years in Brazil, it was in Philadelphia where he has received most of his formal training, notably from John Cevcik, Henry Bermudez, and Giovanni Casadei, instructors at both Fleisher Art Memorial and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He considers Provincetown his summer home and his sacred place Ptown inspires him to paint and sparks his imagination. Ptown offers a prolific art scene and has taught João much about the art world. João paints the scenes around him, scenes which evoke his love for Provincetown and Cape Cod, as well as Philadelphia and the rural countryside. He also creates commissioned paintings and still life compositions. His paintings aim to convey serenity, light, awareness of the past, and appreciation of the beauty around us.Apart from my love of painting barns and farm scenes, I love to paint scenes of Provincetown and Cape Cod. Oil paint is the medium.

I have a degree in art history. Through my love of art, I began exploring various art mediums on a primarily self-taught basis. I have taken a few painting classes in Ptown but my real love is white-line printmaking. I began studying white-line printmaking with Kathryn Lee Smith over 15 years ago and have probably created well over 100 prints in the years since my first class with her. I would love the opportunity to show some of my work at The Commons.

Rhythm, movement, and self-expression are key to my work. With my fusion of content, composition, and nuanced tonality, I strive to stimulate emotional reactions in viewers, perhaps fueling a longing for a comfortable refuge of escape from our hectic world. My choice of subjects is influenced by both the world around me and feelings within me. The comfort I feel in natural environments like the Cape Cod and Connecticut shoreline together with the inspiration I continue to draw from my teachers at the New York Academy of Art and the theories of the Cape Cod School of Art, imbues my landscapes with a hybrid of realism and expressionism. This path is leading me to further evolution as an artist as I continued to develop into my distinct interpretive style. I have exhibited extensively in New England and New York in galleries and cultural centers such as Gallery 444 in Provincetown, MA, Addison Gallery in Orleans, MA, Blue Mountain Gallery in NYC, Munson Gallery in New Haven CT, Gallery at the Wauregan in Norwich CT, Gallery at Firehouse Square in New London, Ct to name a few. My work is in many private collections worldwide.

I have visited the space while in Provincetown. I find my inspiration for the majority of my landscape paintings on the Outer Cape. I have been visiting regularly for decades and create many paintings and studies on location. I then work on these paintings and use them as inspiration back in my CT studio. These studies will encompass my work until I return for more inspiration. The Outer Cape is my happy place and my most creative place. No. I have a week show at Gallery 444 in Provincetown for the past 3 years, but no gallery representation.

Leland (Lee) Smith is a photo-artist. In photographic circles he is considered a “generalist”. As such his images encompass a wide range subject matter – landscape, architecture, still life, abstract. He approaches his work with a subtle nod to pictorialism, a school of thought that “emphasizes the beauty of subject matter, tonality and composition rather than the documentation of reality.” He often uses layered exposures and subtle textures to create a graphic painterly-like dynamic that produces an image that is more complex in tone and softer in feel. With a background of directing high profile television commercials, his photographic style has been shaped by the masters of advertising still life photography and by the classic motion picture cinematographers that he has had the good fortune of working with. Lee splits his time between Cape Cod and Connecticut.

I've had work in a group exhibition.

Margot Stage was re-introduced to visual art in 2001. Before that pivotal moment, her expressive media had been words and sound, as she worked as a National Public Radio host and producer, and a freelance writer. Turning to visual art was like coming home to an earlier self. Stage’s work was immediately accepted into juried exhibitions and has been shown extensively in museums, galleries, universities, outdoor sculpture shows and community centers throughout New England. Her art has been selected for exhibition at Provincetown Art Association Museum, The Menino Arts Center, The Greenwald Gallery, Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Heritage Museum and Gardens, Studios Without Walls, Old Frog Pond Sculpture Walk, Hopkinton Center for the Arts, Fruitlands Museum, Fitchburg Art Museum, DeCordova Museum, Whistler House Museum of Art, The Schoolhouse Gallery, Brickbottom Gallery, Lesley University, Bunker Hill Community College, Lasell College, Lawrence Academy, The Carnegie Center for Art, Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, Indian Hill Music Center, Arnold Arboretum, Moose Hill Audubon Gallery, The Center for Art in Natick, Fiber Arts Center, Gallery 119, Brush Art Gallery. Stage’s work has been featured on Lower Cape TV and in The Provincetown Independent, The Lowell Sun, Fiber Arts Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Middlesex Beat, The Ithaca Journal, The Boston Phoenix, and The Westford Eagle. Her work is held in the collections of Enterprise Bank, The Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Lowell Community Health Center, the Free Software Foundation and by many private individuals. Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Lando & Anastasi borrowed her work through a corporate loan program. Stage has received multiple residencies at The Studios at Mass MoCA, and several grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Stage lives with her artist husband and their dog in Eastham, Massachusetts.

Mark Del Franco creates images that walk the line between the abstract and the real. Drawing upon such varied influences as graffiti, Japanese wood-cuts, the Neo-Impressionists, and graphic novel inking, he creates images that evoke memories and reflection. Through color, shape and line, he hopes the observer will find his work engaging and discover something new every time they look.

Like Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism, the images are intended to be viewed from a distance, allowing your eye to "mix" the colors into an almost realist form. As you view the gallery, create some distance between your eye and image for a better idea what you will see once a piece is hung on the wall.

Artwork inspired by my world-wide travels; the wonders of nature; ancient civilizations, my studies in energy healing and mindfulness; and the collective, spiritual world. My art features nature, places, and animals with symbolic and spiritual elements. My art is bright and joyful, and the colors, shapes, and lines convey deeper meanings. I play with the juxtaposition of fine detail versus open space. The lines in my work show the vibrational energies that we cannot see with the eye but are present in everything. I want my art to inspire joy in people because thoughts create reality. Feeling happiness and joy for even a moment is positive therapy for mind and body.

I have a variety of sizes which range from 48x30; 40 x 30; 30x46; 24 x 36; 20 x16; 24 x18; 20x16; 10x8. Ultimately the number of paintings would depend on the size painting I choose.Half the Hallway

I studied at the Worcester Art Museum, Mass. College of Art, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. I managed the RISD Pre-College summer program for 2 summers and was Managing Editor/Editor of ArtExpress magazine for its short life. Padric and Michael currently maintain a work studio in Provincetown.

This will be a joint showing of about 20 pieces of artwork by a married couple living in No. Truro and working in Provincetown. Padric Meagher's artwork consists of collages and assemblages of found, painted and manipulated items. Michael Guy creates oil paintings of men at the beach and in the water on Cape Cod.

Michael was represented by Woodman/Shimko Gallery from 2015 thru Sept. 2024

A BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design led to a lifelong career in interior design, with projects in LA, Santa Barbara, Phoenix and NYC. Living in PT for 8 years inspired a return to fine art. Workshops at PAAM, FAWC and Castle Hill have been the foundation to create paintings depicting the people and places of town.

2 paintings, approx 72” x 72”
The group of paintings I would like to exhibit would be titled The Summer of ‘24, as a play on the movie The Summer of ‘42. But rather than a coming of age story the paintings evoke a reminiscence of times gone by.

Live here and come to exhibitions at The Commons

My work is primarily three dimensional and abstract, an outgrowth of an early metal sculpture class, where I became interested in the shapes I could conjure up using wire mesh. The early work focused on volumetric curved and random shaped objects, exercises in serendipity—a playfulness in the creation of random shapes paired with a palette to fit the form. However, during the Covid epidemic, my work became more intentional: defining the shape prior to construction, and mixing and exploring color combinations in a more exacting manner. “Place” also became integrated into my work—many of the pieces finished during this period were inspired by the moors, tides and colors of Provincetown MA. An exhibition at The Commons would be centered around my three dimensional wall sculptures, and would likely include around 15 pieces. My work is primarily in the 24x24 and 12x12 range, with a depth of 5-6 inches. My 2022 show at Alexandria VA’s Athenaeum included a wide range of work done over an extended period of time; if selected for a show at The Commons, I would focus more on my most recent works—curved and colorful 3D striped pieces, and may include some very new work using Cyanotypes on my curved armatures.

Will be in Provincetown 8/26-9/28 this year attending The Cape School of Art. I have been to the space for openings and have toured the facility. Friends use the co-operative office space. I have been going to Provincetown since I was 4 years old. I consider it my anchor town.

Peter Sterling Turner is an emerging multi-disciplinary visual Artist born in Rhode Island and spent his formative years in Newport before completing his primary education in Tennessee, New Jersey, and California. As a young man, he found his creative outlet through various mediums, including acting, leather-working, woodworking, cartoon drawing, and occasional birdhouse construction. His educational journey led him through Communications and Liberal Arts programs at California State University, Community College of Rhode Island, and The University of Massachusetts. Following his formal education, Turner embarked on a 15-year apprenticeship with couture fashion designer Francesco Di Russo, also known as Ches Couturier. He further honed his skills with a three-year apprenticeship and role as a cutter for a wholesale and retail manufacturer specializing in custom apparel and accessories. With a career spanning since 1985, Turner initially began in the design industry as a showroom assistant for Full Swing, an interior design firm and textile company based in Newport. He later relocated to Boston, where he worked for a company specializing in custom drapery and interior fashions before transitioning into freelance Interior Decoration. Throughout his career, he maintained secondary employment as a waiter, bartender, and caterer, accumulating 32 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry. In 2009, Turner discovered his passion for painting and describes himself as an Evolutionary Expressionist, noting that all of his paintings are self-portraits. In addition to his work in the design industry, Turner sought involvement in the creative community by joining art guilds. He served six years as a Board Member for The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County, where he hosted and produced their television program, "Art View," and organized events. Currently dividing his time between New England summers and the Florida Keys, Turner is an active volunteer at Crane Point Hammock Museum & Nature Center. He serves as President of The Florida Keys Watercolor Society, sits on the Development Committee for The Cape School of Art, and is a member of art guilds in both regions.

I've seen friends exhibits. I've been living here part-time my whole life. I camped with my mom all summer in Wellfleet and then she moved there when I was a teen. I used to live and work in Provincetown Summers (as an interpretive park ranger for CCNS). I did my MFA through Fine Art Work Center. Currently I live and work in Wellfleet summers and some of the off season and if I get a job I just applied for I may become a year-rounder!

Rebecca Arnoldi has exhibited in galleries and museums internationally. She has an MFA in painting and her exhibits have been reviewed and publicized by the Provincetown Banner, the Jerusalem Post, the Boston Globe and other publications. She makes art that explores biological forms and uses ecological mixed-media. Rebecca has led art classes and workshops for over 20 years and is a Museum Educator for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

I am a landscape and figurative artist working committed to enhancing how self and other awareness allows us to connect and know the world we are a part of. I am interested in how perception, language, and culture shape who we are and how we see each other and the world around us. I work with oil on board and canvas as well as Gouache and watercolor

I am proposing a group show to highlight the figurative work of male and female artists working in and about Provincetown. I envision a classical and erotic section. Clearly at this stage I would want ot know if the Commons would be open to this and then flesh out the process and participation dimensions. My Figurative work is both Classical and erotic.

Roger Braimon is a visual artist working in Provincetown, MA and New York City, NY. Roger’s art combines spontaneity and whimsy with meticulous detail, integrating impression with representation. His unconventional style of combining isolated and blurred strokes of color maintains a breathing space for light and air. After receiving his BFA in printmaking and photography from Cornell University and MFA in painting from University of Pennsylvania, Roger worked as a fashion textile colorist in NYC’s Garment District where he created original patterns and color harmonies, honing painting skills evident in his current work. His artist collaboration with Baked,NYC featured representations of his original watercolors on bespoke keepsake boxes, sold exclusively in Japan. In 2009, he was selected for a live-work residency at the landmarked Westbeth Artists Housing in the West Village neighborhood in NYC.

Spent all my summers here and now have a second home on the cape.

SHERRY SHERWOOD As a lifelong summer resident of Cape Cod, Sherry Sherwood was “raised” by the artist colony of Provincetown, Massachusetts. The creative and free-spirited soul of Provincetown greatly influenced Sherwood’s distinctive finger font and helped forge her artistic path. Sherwood is one of a handful of artists that carry on the traditional process of the “Provincetown Print” working exclusively in the medium of the “White Line Color Woodcut.” While living in Provincetown, Sherwood was first introduced to this rare form of block printing while studying under William H. Evaul; the artist credited with the revival of the while line process in the early 1980’s. Evaul has had a profound influence on Sherry’s direction, though the style is all her own. During her time spent traveling in Africa, Europe, the Philippines, the Caribbean, or the United States, Sherwood would absorb the colors and cultural influences of these inspirational locales. Many of these areas would become subjects of her prints. She describes her style as a cross between analytical cubism and impressionism; attempting to create an easily understood abstraction that expresses the whole experience of a place or event. Dedicated to protecting the world’s fragile ecosystems, marine wildlife, and humankind, Sherwood continues working. A few of the many organizations she has been involved with include: Greenpeace, The Center for Coastal Studies, Marine Mammal Stranding Network, NECWA (New England Coastal Wildlife Association), teaching art classes, and mission work in Madagascar. Art aside, Sherwood also spends time on her music, works on improving her foreign language skills and is a seasoned sailor and windsurfer. She earned her BFA (with distinction) in Printmaking from UMASS Dartmouth.

For the last 16 years we have owned a home in Truro and spend much of the summer and frequent off-season weekends on the Cape. You can find us most often walking the beaches and the dunes of the outer cape and have enjoyed the splendors of Provincetown, especially the art scene and the Friday night gallery strolls.

Born in New York City to parents who survived the Holocaust, Susan Frankl was deeply influenced by their resilience and creativity. Her mother, a dress and pattern maker on Seventh Avenue, instilled in her an appreciation for form, shape, color, pattern, and texture while from her father, a tool and die maker who crafted metal sculptures in his spare time, she learned the importance of nurturing one’s inner creativity. Together, they affirmed the sanctity of human life and the importance of caring for others. These early influences guided her toward a 40-year career as a physician and medical educator. Yet, throughout her career she maintained her interest in design and the creative arts. Frequent weekend trips to the countryside were cherished by her family who emphasized the value of fresh air, nature, and open spaces. A transformative hike in Yosemite during medical school deepened her love for the natural world- the sky, the mountains, the sea, and the light. Much like nature itself, Susan has found that art can provide a space for reflection, personal meaning and healing. After a rewarding medical career, Susan recently turned to abstract landscape painting as a means of expression that honors her personal journey, the healing arts and nature. Her work is deeply inspired by the ocean and dune landscapes of Cape Cod. Working with acrylic paint, gold leaf and collage she translates what she sees into what she feels. She has studied with Amy Wynne, Scott Gellatly, and Kathy Deflice-Secor. Her art has been showcased in a juried exhibition, the 24th Annual Frances N. Roddy Competition in 2023. Her work was also selected for publication in the 2024 calendar of Concord Art Center for the Visual Arts.

Acrylic paintings, primarily abstract landscape, about 12-15 pieces of various sizes.
