Urvashi vaid CHANGEMAKERS FUND
A new grant to fund programs or projects that activate communities on Outer Cape Cod (Provincetown – Orleans) around shared challenges and that creatively build relationships across differences. Named after and based on the activism of Urvashi Vaid, the Changemakers Fund will support programs and projects with a foundation in intersectionality; projects that initiate community conversation, collaboration, or change are welcome. Individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses are encouraged to apply.
Maximum grant amount is $10,000. Applications for grants up to $500 are accepted year-round. Applications for grants $501 - $10,000 are accepted twice a year, on January 31 and October 31.
Projects or programs can range in area and scope and can include raising awareness in and across a variety of social issues, including but not limited to HIV advocacy, racial justice, immigration justice, environmental justice, prison reform, women’s rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. Individuals and groups may apply for grants once a year. Projects can be funded up to three times.
The Commons sincerely wants to understand the ways that we can make this opportunity accessible to the most people. This is our first round of funding through the Changemakers Fund, and we will be learning with you. We're happy to extend grace and ask for yours with us.
