“On Jeans: Embodying Queer Womxn of Color Stories”

Artist Reception:
A diverse group of LGBTQ+ women (identifying) of color present their conversation on being themselves. I have some good news. The show “On Jeans” has been invited to the radio station WOMR on May 8 for International Women’s Day. The exhibition participants shared a song along with two sentences describing how that song described them and the work they were presenting. Also, there will be one or two exhibitors in conversation over the hour airing.
The “On Jeans” exhibition requires a program that will contain a musical playlist and a few sentences about the artist's relationship to the song and the images of their work. This is a marketing tool to travel the show, a historical document, and most importantly, an informational tool to educate the public. We aim to demonstrate how LGBTQ+ women of color are as diverse as the larger community and yet not so different.
