HIGH TIDE BY BETH FAHERTY
On exhibit: May 14 - May 27
Artist Reception: Friday, May 17, from 4 - 7 PM
This past winter there began several heartbreakingly acute indications of how hard it is to be a human being. Both here and far away. I would think about this while wrapped in a scarf against bitter winds and grayest of skies, while walking. And then a guest star of a migratory bird would flash in my periphery and the sheer magnificence of their call, outfit, and resilience would astound me. I marveled in their holy community.
Therefore, this new work is lofty spirited and hopeful. It is a reverent love song in color to bulb and bloom, to bravery and adaptation. These paintings encapsulate my reverence, imagination, and belief that joy and wonder are vital nourishment, to be searched for along your shores, in the harshest of conditions.
