Richard Christopher Patterson ◦ R.C. Patterson aka Chris Patterson, artist, photographer and quilter, pottery is also in the wheelhouse and former arts and crafts instructor; multi disciplinary artist moved to Provincetown in 2013. Born in Brooklyn 1960 attended the Arts Students League of New York in the 80’s Artist Bruce Dorfman instructor, Graduated from the College of Santa Fe with a focus on sculpture in 1992. Always knew he wanted to be an Artist, during a painting session in 3rd grade he realized that he had more talent than the other students. In 1978 he Started painting as a self-taught artist in oil & acrylic. During the 80’s he started attending the Arts Students League of New York, Artist Bruce Drofman was the instructor. Summer Camp Arts and Crafts Instructor 1985-1989 Paul Smiths NY. Returned to college in 1988, attended The College of Santa Fe, continued to make art and work in Santa Fe until 2021. South Carolina , Continued to make art and started harvesting clay and making pit fired pottery also conducted pottery workshops. Member of the Water Lily Gallery, Summerton, SC. Moved to Provincetown in 2013; started taking daily sunrise photos…….In 2018 I became a grand uncle and the memory of my great grandmother’s quilts came to mind so I decided to make a baby quilt for my grand niece. I enjoy designing and piecing together quilts and currently investigating ways and applying tools in my wheelhouse to make quilts and art quilts. ◦
