Colleen Mauro
I was a merchandizer in the garment district of NYC for over 30 years when I decided to take up painting. First watercolor with Joan Iaconetti then Tim Satternow , then portrait painting with Costa Vavagiakis at the Art Students League.
This all led me to the Cape School of Art in Provincetown where my family vacationed every summer for over 20 years. I studied a few years with Hilda Neily before discovering John Clayton the teacher who stoked a spark into a flame . Lets just say he is the best thing that happened to me during covid.
In his weekly zoom class and annual live classes I bonded with two tremendous men that have supported me and inspired me to become an artist.
I am currently involved in the Williamsburg Art Group and Greenpoint Art Circle in my community and have shown multiple times with both of them.And I’ve been in art auctions and sales with the Cape School. I’ve also shown in the main hall at the Art Students League.
My work can be found hanging in London England, Toronto ,and Niagara Falls Canada, NYC, and various other homes in the USA.
