Sheryl Jaffe is an artist, papermaker, sculptor, printmaker and installation artist currently working with plants found in the environment. She studied traditional hand papermaking in Japan and China and has taught papermaking and book arts in Haiti, Truro and Western Mass. My work explores connections formed between fibers, people, places, and emotions among other things. I explore transformation and a sense of place through materials I gather, cook, and pulp such as seaweed, yucca, privet and english ivy. I am endlessly interested in plants, our relationships with them, and how to get them to speak.
