Elizabeth G. Brooke
As a year-round resident in Provincetown since 1974, Elizabeth Brooke has worn many hats but always
pursued photography - first as an avocation and later, a professional.
An international award-winning photographer, her work has been published in the Massachusetts Audubon Society newsletter, Cape Cod Times, Boston Globe, Provincetown Magazine, New York Times, Southampton Press, Provincetown Independent, Wicked Local Cape Cod, and Los Angeles Times among others.
She has exhibited at The Provincetown Art Association
& Museum, Chatham Center for the Arts, Orleans Gallery of Photography, The Provincetown Commons, and Spiritus.
As a generalist, Elizabeth takes pictures intuitively with most images unplanned. Her creative philosophy
is best summed up by these words from the poet Mary Oliver: “Stop, look, listen. Pay attention. Be astonished.
Tell about it.”
