Prior to relocating to Provincetown in 2014, Kurt Reynolds resided in Boston. He
is best known for a body of work which chronicles the earlier days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, at which time his work was exhibited widely and documented in the media. Kurt’s work has been exhibited at The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, The Somerville Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among others - including galleries, and private and public venues.

He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Art Education, and The Art Institute of Lesley University, where he earned an M.Ed. in Art Therapy. He is a licensed social worker and mental health counselor. His work in the field of human services has informed and guided his creative process, exploration, and the content of his work.

Since moving to Provincetown, his work has been shown in open and juried shows at the Fine Arts Work Center, the Pilgrim Monument Museum, The Commons, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, where Kurt participated in the Museum’s first open member show in 1973 while an art student.

How Far Is The World is Kurt’s first large scale exhibition in Provincetown. Featured prominently are themes of Provincetown’s maritime history, its promise and peril, it’s people and unparalleled beauty. Kurt’s work expresses concerns ranging from the social and political, to the personal and environmental. Reaching across decades is his reverence for the found and
selected object - the forgotten, discarded, lost, and treasured materials which comprise the pallet of his Constructions.
