I’m Nick Aitken, been visiting Provincetown for the past 30 years in the summer, my best friend lives here full time, I’ve been an artist my lifetime, I’m 52 this week. Started off doing more craft art like ceramics and jewelry design, batiks. I went to the Academy of Art College in SF, studied editorial photography, and then taught photography for 4 years at the University. I’m now currently working on oil painting, mostly doing portraits, and also ink and pen drawings, my older sister is an excellent artist, so I didn’t get into fine art and drawing and painting until the pandemic hit. I love vibrant color and texture. The samples I send Is from on a series called Alice, it’s an early sample of what I will do for the show, I will need the whole year to develop the series and make it awesome. It will be different character portraits like Alice.
